Recently CFGPA was asked to become the charter holder for the Myersville Boy Scout Troop 273. There is a great history with this troop, as it has existed now for 62 years. There are a number of reasons this move took place, and many agreed it would be a great fit with regards to mission and beliefs. It has already become evident that this move will not only allow the troop to continue, but more importantly, to grow.
Below is a message from the troops Scoutmaster.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America, and Troop 273 of Myersville, is to prepare young people to make ethical, and moral choices over their lifetimes, by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. CFGPA charters Troop 273 and by doing so supports our mission by providing young people with the opportunity to learn and share in responsible conservation, shooting sports, and character development, and provide the Troop with a meeting place for weekly meetings and quarterly awards banquets. The charter currently supports twenty scouts. Thank you to all the members of CFGPA for your continued support of our youth.
Yours in Scouting,
Mike Cottrell
